Influenster Vox Box- My review! #JadoreDessange

"The hair care secret that French women don't want you to know about!"
                                        #JAdoreDessange

 Hey!

I am pretty excited to give you my review on the Dessange Vox Box that I received for free from Influenster!

Let's talk about Dessange!-

"Jacques Dessange established DESSANGE in 1954 when he opened his first salon in Paris by the prestigious Champs-Elysees, attracting  glamorous celebrities and later becoming the Official Hairstylist at the Cannes Film Festival. Today, DESSANGE Paris brings the luxury salon experience to the homes of women everywhere".

Well, I tried the products that were sent to me. I got the Oleo Miracle for Overprocessed & Damaged hair. It's like, Influenster knew actually what my hair needed!

My Review-

Well, I tried the products that were sent to me. I received the Oleo Miracle for Overprocessed & Damaged hair. It's like, Influenster knew actually what my hair needed!

The first time I tried it, it was pretty late at night and I was super tired and went to bed with my hair wet. I remember, waking up in the morning, looking in the mirror and, WHOA, baby! I had so much volume in my hair! It was so funny to look at!
I used to have really thick hair but unfortunately, I had a lot of hair thinning these past few months, so seeing that this product really gave me some volume, made me smile, because I  really miss my thick hair!

After, styling my hair. I was hooked on these products! My hair felt really soft and my old highlights seemed liked they got lighter and it looked like it helped tone down the brassiness in my highlights. HUGE plus, right?! Yes! :)

The Oleo Miracle collection is infused with “nutrients from nature’s most precious oils” including Argan Oil, Camellia Oil and Pracaxi Oil.

I really loved the shampoo and conditioner. I've never used oils in my hair  before, and I must say, I am very impressed after blow drying & styling,  my hair didn't  feel weighed down or greasy.

Hands down the Replenishing Oil is the best thing I ever tried. I am sure my hair loved me for it. I applied it to my hair after I got out of the shower.

I do see myself continuing to use this product, and I am happy that it's available at Target! I love Target! :)
DESSANGE comes in a few different categories, depending on your hair type. So go to Target and check them out and let me know if your thinking about trying DESSANGE out!

Thanks for reading!

Homemade Red Enchilada Sauce!

Hey y'all!

I have been wanting to get this recipe up and running ever since I posted the picture of my homemade red enchilada sauce on my social media!
I am sorry, I kept some of you waiting! (It has been a crazy week with moving and school work!)

Ok, so this was my VERY first time EVER making homemade enchilada sauce.

I am not gonna lie, I was going crazy looking around the kitchen for the enchilada seasoning packet, I had bought a few months ago.
After about 10 mins of searching for it, I decided to start playing around with some ingredients I had at home.

I seriously, kid you not! This recipe will knock your socks off!!!

Y'all asked for this, so now I am blogging about it! :)

After you try making your  homemade enchilada sauce, I guarantee you will NEVER, ever buy canned or season packet store bought stuff AGAIN!
I mean, seriously it's so EASY to make, with simple ingredients, I am sure y'all have at home.
My first attempt at making this I used ground (cayenne) Red Pepper. Whoa, it had a kick! Personally, I loved it. My husband thought it was too spicy for him. He did mentioned after he had a couple of bites, he got used to the spiciness!
If you like spicy, I say GO-for it! If not so much, just stick with some good quality chili powder!
Now!-get in that kitchen and make your own jar full of happiness!

Enchilada Red Sauce
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 white onion diced
  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of chicken stock or vegetable stock
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste.

Mmmmm look at all that goodness! :)

Directions:
Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Whisk in the flour until well combined, I would say at least 1 minute.
  • Stir in tomatoes, onions, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder,  and 1 cup water and 1 cup of chicken or vegetable stock; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Bring it to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. The key to making this yumminess is to keep whisking away with it, this will help with any lumps you may have. And- That's it!
  • Use it right away or your can store it in an air tight container and use within two weeks!

What I used to make my enchilada's:

12- soft corn tortillas
1 lb. ground beef. *I used lamb! (so so good!)
2 pounds of grated cheese. (Mexican blend)
1/2 small onion diced
Vegetable oil

Heat vegetable oil in a pan on medium-high heat and cook/season your ground beef, to your liking.
After that is done, strain the meat juices and set aside.

(Keep your enchilada sauce on shimmer to get it warm).

Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a frying pan to flash fry your corn tortillas. (This heats the tortillas). You will do this for each one.

With each corn tortilla (one at a time) dip a corn tortilla into the sauce and immediately put it into the pan (a 9×13 worked for me).
From there you will add some meat and cheese and onion, roll it up and push it to the end of the pan.
You will continue doing this with your tortillas until your pan is full. From there you will pour the excess sauce over your tortillas. Sprinkle the top with more cheese & meat and onions.
Cover your pan with foil and put it in the oven at 375* degrees until cheese is melted!

Enjoy!

Mason's 9 and 10 month update!

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't been on here updating my blog. I guess a lot has happened and I just lost track of everything. I am seriously thinking about getting a planner so I can keep things on track. Any suggestions on planners?

Mason is getting SOOOO BIG! I will now update you on his 9 month miles stones and the same for his 10 month and then I will be caught up before he turns 11 months old!!

Mason turned 9 months on June 3rd, 2014.  Mason weight was 21 lbs. and 29 1/2 inches long. He got his top two teeth. (total of four teeth now). They finally cut through when we flew out to California to visit my Grandmother who was ill in the hospital. This was Mason's 2nd air plane trip. He did great both times we flew. His first time traveling by plane was when he was 5 months old. :)  I was so grateful that it was a good experience flying with an infant. I look forward to visiting my family again soon.
Mason is still crawling, well an army style crawl. He doesn't have any interest doing it any other way. He loves playing in his walker. He loves food! At 9 months old we were trying rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes, apple sauce.
Mason is still the happy little guy he has always been. He is very easy going, quite. He is just a go with the flow kind of baby.

My mom holding Mason up so he can see his Great, Great Grandma. (Grandma GG) while she was in the hospital. She woke up from a 2 day coma.   I was blessed to see her awake.

Mason & Michael playing together. Michael is my nephew who was born in July, 2013. 2 months apart.

Mommy & Baby relaxing in the pool.

Mason's first dip in the pool at grandma & grandpas house in California.
Being such a silly boy in his new Mama's little cub shirt.

Our son Trent doing what he loves. FARMING! :)
We got back home to the farm life and he is taking a nap on the job. Being 9 months old is tough! (:

Off to his 10 month update....

Mason is currently 10 months old. 2 weeks ago, I had a huge scare with him that needed medical attention. Mason was playing on the floor on his blanket playing with his toys, right below me as I was sitting on the couch watching the news. I heard him coughing and gagging a little. I thought he was just choking on his spit since he is drooling a lot more. Well, he kept  gagging, I put him on my lap to see what was going on. I didn't see anything in his mouth. I was getting a little more concerned with his gagging so I took him to the bathroom for some more light. I sat him on the counter and opened his mouth wide, to find a piece of paper in the back of his throat. I grabbed him off the counter fast, I sat on the toilet and laid him on his tummy, head down and I started to pat his back. Of course he started crying and I was trying so hard not to panic. He was still gagging. I reached my fingers in his mouth and I  did this "hooking thing" with my finger and I was able to pull it out. It was a bar code sticker from something we purchased. I have no idea where it came from. I was so relieved that I was able to get in that far to pull it out.
I did take him in to see his doctor because I was nervous about the patting I did on his back to get him to cough it up. I also wanted to make sure his throat was okay, since there was blood on the sticker when I pulled it out.
But everything was okay with Mason. His doctor said his lungs sound great and that he might have a little bit of a sore throat.

I am currently signed up in September to get a CPR licenses. It will be good for 2 years. It has been since 2005, since I had CPR training. I want to be able to be updated and to stay educated if I ever find myself in this position again. I hope not, but you just never know.

Other then that. Mason is very healthy. He is smiling & laughing lot's more. His favorite foods are those food pouches. He sucks the food right out of there!! :) He likes to pull himself up to stand. He still does his army crawl, but it is so much faster. He has strong arms! He really wants to get up and walk. He has really good balance. It's only a matter of time before he is walking. He loves to chase me in his walker. It's so funny seeing him in his walker and is able to get around. I remember the first time putting him in his walker, he was so small and not tall enough for his feet to touch the ground so we had to put blankets under his feet and around his waist. Time sure does fly by fast. He will be turning 11 months old  in 14 days. WOW! He's almost one!

Well that's all I have to say for now. I am so happy to be updated on his mile stones. See you next month!

Mason's 1st 4th of July! He was pretty excited. (can you tell) :)

My two lovely boys!

We had a nice family trip to the Minnesota Zoo!

My baby boy is 8 months old!

Mason your growing up so fast! Where is the time going??

Mason is a little worm on the floor. He is not crawling just yet, but he is almost there. He’s beginning to get the hang of moving one knee forward in conjunction with the appropriate arm. Right now he is able to move his body in full circles depending on where he wants to go.

Even though he can't crawl, he manages to roll & wiggle his way to get into everything!

When I turn my head for one second while he is playing on his play mat, he will be somewhere else on the floor or by my feet playing with the computer cord while I'm using the laptop! Boy! I gotta start baby proofing my house!

His first tooth finally came in. Some nights were really bad for him. He would want to comfort nurse all night long! Poor little guy! :(
But now he looks so cute when he smiles and you see his only tooth. :)

I'm dreading the others that are soon to come!

He can sit up and clap his hands. When he get's really excited he starts waving his hands up and down really fast. It's so funny to watch!

I love hearing him talk. He makes all kinds of baby talk. Like Mmmmmaa mama, dada, bah bah! So cute!

He loves:

Watching Mickey Mouse Club House
The sound of paper
Looking at pictures in books
Chewing on everything
Playing with his big brother

Does not like:

Loud noises like the drill, cars toys that make noise,
action movies that have really loud noises.

He doesn't like it when I leave the room. He cries and screams for me to come back.

Pears

I'm in love with this picture!

I love his smile! :)

Mason's first time on a swing! He loved it!
